Kemi Awesu

Trainee Family Therapist

I am a Trainee Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with experience working with children, young people and families across Early Help, Children’s Social Care, CAMHS and community settings. I currently work as a Systemic Practitioner within a Local Authority’s Children Looked After and Children Leaving Care service, alongside my masters training in Systemic and Family Psychotherapy.
I bring a relational, compassionate, and collaborative approach to my work, recognising that people’s experiences are shaped by their relationships, communities, and wider social and cultural contexts. I am particularly passionate about working with marginalised communities and families who may experience barriers to accessing support, and supporting young people and families affected by violence and inequality.
I aim to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, valued, and comfortable exploring their experiences. I work collaboratively with families to understand their strengths, relationships, and resources to develop meaningful ways forward together.
