Roya Dooman
I am a Dramatherapist with over 35 years of professional experience. Creative approaches to therapy maybe more useful than words alone, offering a more distanced approach to a painful issue. The use of images, movement and stories, can help to help shift old patterns of relating to both ourselves and to others.
I am passionate about people and their ability to make changes in their own lives with the right support. I have worked extensively with children, young people, and families across education, social services, charitable, and private sector settings, supporting them through complex emotional challenges and significant life transitions.
I have a specialist interest in neurodiversity in children and adolescents, as well as complex grief and trauma. I am trained as a bereavement councillor and trained in EMDR.
I hope that my approach is warm, attachment based and trauma-informed
I hope to walk alongside you, supporting you in finding ways to move through life’s difficulties, experiencing relationships through new perspectives.
