Michaela Nicolaou
I have just completed a two years masters degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at Goldsmiths University.
Up until now, I have provided therapy to clients with a range of different presentations including anxiety (health, social and generalised), obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorder and low self-esteem.
My primary approach is CBT whereby we will collaboratively create goals aimed to challenge personal life difficulties and in turn introduce relevant and useful interventions/skills such as mindfulness techniques.
Therapy can be personal and challenging, and therefore I aim to create a trusting, supportive and safe environment to allow my clients to gain a deeper understanding of their difficulties and feel encouraged to find better alternative coping mechanisms.
